FALMOUTH – Cape Cod musicians are the coolest people.
For example, here is Luke Vose, lead singer of one of the most popular bands on Cape Cod, Crooked Coast, playing a solo Wednesday afternoon outdoor gig on Main Street as a benefit for the Falmouth Fire Department’s campsite for Homeless For the Holidays.
Firefighters are raising donations for the Falmouth Service Center. (PLEASE CLICK THE LINK TO DONATE)
The campsite is next to Johnson Electric on Main Street.
Firefighters began camping out at 9 AM on December 7, and the event ends at 1 PM on December 11 – a total of 101 hours. Firefighters are accepting donations of unwrapped toys, non-perishable food, or cash.
The Homeless For The Holidays event started in Bourne 15 years ago, and has since spread to other Cape towns. This is the fourth year Falmouth is holding the event.
So when we heard that Vose was playing, we hurried over there. This was going to be a treat for a good cause, we thought. It was.
We even got to make a request of one of our favorite Crooked Coast originals, the super catchy “Icarus.”
Enjoy.
For comparison, here is his whole band in the official video of Crooked Coast’s Icarus. It’s great. The band is great. They are a Cape Cod Wave favorite, a band that easily could break big. We aren’t the only ones who think this. Watch and see why.
