Marconi Beach Surfer, 2 Long Rides – VIDEO

WELLFLEET – It was a pleasant surprise to walk onto Marconi Beach recently and see Ken Merrill, a longtime enthusiastic surfer who we had earlier profiled for having a surfboard museum inside of his house.

There he was, waxing his surfboard and getting ready to go out. We let him finish as we hiked down the beach a bit and back.

And then he went out. We thought we’d maybe see him catch a wave for a few seconds.

Well, within minutes he had taken two of the longer rides I’d ever seen. And here they are.

As for his surfboard museum, check out this five-part video.
