BOURNE – It is not completely surprising that a place called the Herring Run Recreational Park would be popular with fisherman.
Located on the off-Cape side of the Cape Cod Canal, yet somehow still on Cape, the park offers a spectacular view of the Sagamore Bridge as well as a great respite from the between-the-bridges traffic one must travel to get here.
We saw people biking, walking, taking photos and laying in the sun. But most of all, we saw folks trying to catch fish. In the brief time we were there, we only saw them trying, not catching. In the middle of a beautiful afternoon, no one was giving up.
