Alone At Great Sippewissett Marsh, Worth The Trek – Slideshow

Great Sippewissett

FALMOUTH – It is about a mile walk from the nearest parking lot to mile marker 6.4 on the Shining Sea Bikeway.

While it is easy to find a parking lot on Cape Cod with a great view of the sunset, there is something about this particular spot that has always drawn us back.

Whether to show you a photo or, as we have done several times,  just to take another mental photograph of the spectacular and aptly named Great Sippewissett Marsh, we know there is nothing quite like standing all alone with no one in sight, just looking at this.

So in early February, we started walking and placed a mental bet that it wouldn’t be crowded. We won. This was ours alone.

The first time we saw this was just after the bike path extension to North Falmouth was completed when we ran into a friend at this spot who said simply, “Who knew this was here?”.

We do now. We keep coming back here. It’s just one of those places on Cape Cod.
