ORLEANS – There is a special amount of truth in branding in the band name, Pans in Paradise, which is, in fact, three steel drum players with a regular free weekly sunset summer concert at Rock Harbor in Orleans.
The three band members are Seth Martin, Gail Smith and Amy Hughes. They played, according to Martin, “a combination of tenor, double seconds, and guitar pans.” So the “Pans” part of the band’s name was well covered.
As for paradise… look around. Paradise indeed.
And the music, with a perfectly comfortable crowd watching, was very pleasant as the band played all the tropical hits. We ended this video, in fact, with a snippet of Jimmy Buffett’s “One Particular Harbour.”
This particular harbor was a great place to be Wednesday evening. The band has been playing Wednesday sunsets at Rock Harbor for 20 years, said Martin.
