Hoxie House & Shawme Lake

Hoxie House
Written by Brian Tarcy

SANDWICH – We can see why this was a prime Cape Cod real estate in 1675.

The simple, sturdy Hoxie House, which was built in 1675, is one of New England’s oldest houses. That alone makes it an attraction. There are apparently tours in the summer.

But in mid January, it was closed up so we toured the outside of the spectacular property overlooking Shawme Lake. The rule has apparently always applied: location, location, location.
