Early Evening At Mayflower Beach

Mayflower Beach
Written by Brian Tarcy

DENNIS – Early evening in early July at Mayflower Beach, and it seemed like the summer may actually last forever. Most, but not all of the beachgoers were gone, but their sandcastles were left behind.

The optimist in us says that construction of these castles is in its early stages, but the realist in us knows that the structures, like the summer, will all too soon be washed away. So we enjoyed the fleeting moments.

On this evening, as the sun was setting, besides the structures, and a heart drawn in the sand, we saw a boy take a perfect jump off of a lifeguard stand.

It doesn’t last forever. Nothing does. Savor the moment.
