ORLEANS – Christmas, of course, is all about family.
Sometimes, the holiday can include spirited discussions. So in the spirit of spirited discussions, we present these two opposing editorial viewpoints on Christmas from one very musical family.
In families, there are bound to be different perspectives and spirited discussions on many things, including the holiday.
Some folks like Christmas:
DAN SHOOK & THE SNOWFLAKES
While others think this is no time for fun:
STEVE SHOOK AND THE ELFTONES
At last year’s Christmas Cavalcade For The Homeless, Steve Shook and the Elftones, created the now-classic Christmas song, “This is No Time For Fun, (This Is Christmas)”.
As soon as we heard it, we thought that, despite the lyrics, Christmas with the Shook family sounds like crazy fun.
Well, it turns out the Shook’s son, Dan of the band, The Flakes, thinks that Christmas is, in fact, a good time for fun.
As a direct response to his father’s song from last year, Dan Shook renamed his band the Snowflakes for one night and wrote this song, “Dear Christmas, I Like You.”
Enjoy both videos. We hope your family has the same kind of spirited debate as these two talented musicians: father and son at Christmas.
