WELLFLEET – The song, “Shaking All Over” — written by Johnny Kidd and the Pirates and made famous by The Who — was transformed this Saturday into a Wellfleet Oysterfest theme song, “Shucking All Over” by Sarah Swain and the Oh Boys.
And so that is the background music for this montage of photos and video that we shot on a spectacular blue sky first day of the weekend-long festival in the center of Wellfleet.
The festival has grown enormous, with the “world’s biggest oyster shucking contest,” and so much more. Mostly, it was nice to be in the midst of such an incredibly friendly, fun vibe.
We each consumed two dozen oysters because, in covering Oysterfest, it was part of the job. And we saw some spectacular music by Sarah Swain and The Oh Boys, and various guests, including Steve Shook.
Oysters, Wellfleet, and Sarah Swan & The Oh Boys. Yes, those ingredients made Oysterfest lots of fun.
