BREWSTER – Goodnight turkeys. It seemed the thing to say.
We were recently near the Cape Cod Rail Trail one evening about dusk when we saw a line of turkeys marching single file. Intrigued, we watched, and it turned out they were heading to roost for the night.
In trees.
And yes, they fly. To paraphrase the most famous episode ever of the great sitcom, WKRP In Cincinnati, we were a witness. Turkeys can fly.
