Chasing A Sunbeam & Whales At Race Point Beach – Slideshow

Sunbeam at Race Point Beach
Written by Brian Tarcy

PROVINCETOWN – The very first things I saw were the whales. Three puffs out in the ocean. I saw them from the parking lot at the Race Point Beach.

I was barely out of my car, looking out between the dunes. Did I just see what I think I saw? I did. The pathway to the beach showed people standing, staring out in one direction. As I approached, I was told about the whales.

It turned out, I already knew about them.

Unfortunately, as I rushed down the beach chasing the sunbeam that held the feeding whales, they seemed to be moving on.

But I saw them. And I even have some fuzzy photographic evidence, along with a  very detailed memory.

As for my time in the sunbeam at Race Point Beach; the phrase “communing with nature” kept coming to mind.

It was a pretty good day.
