HYANNIS – There were a lot of musicians familiar to Cape Cod Wave in the audience for Schuyler Grant’s show at the 19th Hole on Wednesday night. They obviously already knew what we learned last summer. Grant’s music is good.
It was a perfect venue for Grant’s blues, which was atmospheric and soulful and had a certain kind of smoke and whiskey in it. Grant is a stylist, his band of Will McDonough on bass, and Brad Conant on drums was tight. And we, as well as the crowd, were particularly taken with the harmonica stylings of Allen Oliver.
Here is an original song by Grant, “Questions.” Pour yourself a drink and enjoy some blues.
