CAPE COD – It’s been an unusual holiday season with unpredictable weather: early snowfall on Cape Cod, bone-chilling cold and then moderate temperatures. That’s right, we’re giving you talking points for your holiday dinner with relatives. Just don’t bring up that guy from Queens who just got impeached.
‘Tis the season to ignore the political storm in Washington and roast chestnuts by the open fire. Bake cookies–mountains of cookies–and give them away to neighbors and friends. Take a long walk (but avoid short piers and short peers). Drown your sorrow in eggnog (they sell the good stuff at Kappy’s: Old New England Egg Nog, made with brandy, whiskey, rum and bourbon).
Hang out under the mistletoe to see what happens. In other words, live a little. (At the risk of sounding like a cliched graduation speech.)
From all of us at Cape Cod Wave, we wish you a merry, merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
