Two Ponds Conservation Area, Falmouth – Slideshow

Two Ponds Conservation Area, Falmouth
Written by Brian Tarcy

FALMOUTH – There is a gem of a conservation area in the center of Falmouth just off of Gifford Street near Jones Road, behind the Atria Woodbriar señor living facility.

There are a lot of nice features to this beautiful hike in the 14.75 acre conservation area, including that the first half of it is handicapped accessible.

The parcel, which was formerly a popular par-three golf course that I had played many times, has frontage on two ponds – Jones Pond and Sols Pond.

When Atria purchased the golf course to develop the senior living center, this parcel was donated to The 300 Committee, a private non-profit land trust, as a condition of the development. Since then, half of the area was made handicap accessible, including an elevated boardwalk.
