Sunset at Corn Hill Beach, Truro

Sunset December Corn Hill Beach, Truro
Written by Brian Tarcy

TRURO – It was a cold, clear and beautiful sunset recently at Truro’s Corn Hill Beach.

And while it does not take long for the sun to go down when it nears the horizon, especially at this time of year, the windy beach sent me back to my car for a bit before I returned to beach to watch the end of the show.

A sunset. It’s a simple thing, really. But the specific moment in time, the turning of the Earth in such an obvious way as a sunset over water, is magical every single day. The sun goes down, some color shows up and then it is over. The magic is in the details.

Every night is different. On Cape Cod, there are many different beaches to witness a sunset over water.

At Corn Hill Beach on this night, there were no real clouds to accentuate the show. It was, again, simple.  But the shadows of benches in the fading Cape light, and the glow at the horizon were a treat for the soul. Just a simple thing, and yet, look!
