ORLEANS – The sky beckoned and I could not resist. Just off the Orleans rotary on Route 6 is a turn to Rock Harbor. I had to turn. The sky was showing off.
By the time I got to the harbor, the full sunset show had begun.
The performers – the sky, the clouds, the calm water and, of course, the setting sun – were putting on a show that will, for those who saw it, resonate for long time. Or at least until they are here again.
In fact, just as the sun set, I saw a family walking away from the beach towards their car and one of them said, “Goodbye Rock Harbor.” Another chimed in, “See you in a month.”
