Provincetown Christmas Lights – Slideshow

PROVINCETOWN – In this most artistic of towns, even the Christmas lights stand out.

During Christmas week, the other thing that stands out, in this town where shopping and gifts are such important concepts to the summer economy, is the lack of people.

So we focused on the lights.

The lobster pot Christmas tree is charming, and lonely. The Pilgrim Monument, framed by lights, is the town’s other iconic tree. And then there is Provincetown Town Hall, glittering in the warm December night.

It is Christmas week. This summertime-bustling town has lost its summertime bustle. It all looked pretty lonely.

There is plenty of parking in town. It seems to be all free.

Some of the shops and restaurants are even open. Okay, not a lot of them are open.

But look, the lights are pretty.
