A Fall Afternoon At Red Brook Conservation Area – Slideshow

Red Brook 2021
Written by Brian Tarcy

BOURNE – There is something special about autumn afternoons in the conservation areas of Bourne.

This week, we were in the Red Brook Conservation area, enjoying summer-like temperatures with some of colorful regalia of autumn. Hard to beat that, right?

This 40-acre area, which we visited last year in early fall, was a perfect afternoon hike. It even offered, as we recalled from our previous visit, a nice view of cranberry bogs.

But as we said, there’s something about hiking in Bourne at this time of year that we particularly dig.

We also highly recommend a hike in Four Ponds Conservation Area at this time of year.

“This is a terrific read. Brian Tarcy’s style and sense of humor make it easy reading, while his subject matter is of more importance than most communities realize. If you care about growth in your community and the lack of thoughtful planning, you owe it to yourself to read this though.”
