FALMOUTH – We do not know this postal carrier’s name. He said only two words to us as he was fighting off the Turkey Gang of Falmouth like a lion tamer in the circus: “Every day.”
And then he continued on his route, proving that neither rain, nor snow, nor gloom of night – or turkeys – will stop the Postal Service from delivering mail in Falmouth.
If we knew this postal carrier’s name, in fact, we would not reveal it without his permission. These turkeys clearly have it in for him, and if they somehow found out where he lived, we fear there could be foul play.
Normally, we would pursue good journalism and call the Postal Service, the Natural Resources Department & others for comment on what this video means. But frankly, we feel everyone will be better served in this modern journalistic world with authoritative-sounding, completely unsubstantiated speculation about what it means.
So what we think is that the Turkey Gang of Falmouth is angry about Thanksgiving, therefore they want to ruin Christmas and make sure none of us get packages on time.
Thankfully, there are brave postal carriers fighting this inter-species war for us.
That’s all for now. I would write more, but I suddenly have a craving. I am going to have a turkey sandwich.

I think perhaps a handful of cracked corn might work to keep them at bay.. They will still come running but for a completely different reason .

We had a similar problem in my neighborhood in Wisconsin. A wildlife biologist theorized that the turkeys’ poor eyesight and even poorer reasoning ability made them mistake the carrier’s blue shorts with red stripe for some interloper turkey. A change of uniform solved the problem.
