HSOY Nature Trails, Yarmouth – Slideshow

HSOY Nature Trails
Written by Brian Tarcy

YARMOUTH – The Historical Society of Old Yarmouth Nature Trails are located, according to their website, on 50 acres of land that used to be a golf course.

On a recent day, I parked by the Yarmouthport Post Office and headed off on my trek. First I stopped and looked at the example of a Wetu, a Native American home constructed of sticks and twine that is near the beginning of the trail.

Next, I took off towards Miller Pond and a nice walk on a warm February day.

As is often the case this time of year, it was mostly a solitary hike. I saw one other group of hikers, but otherwise I was immersed in this Cape Cod natural world away from all the humans.
