The Portal Sunset To A Busy Season – Old Silver Before Memorial Day Weekend

Old Silver May sunset
Written by Brian Tarcy

NORTH FALMOUTH – Thursday evening’s sunset at Old Silver Beach felt like moving through a portal into a new season on Cape Cod. The sun has set on “getting ready.”

And so it begins again.

This final sunset before the season was wonderful, the kind of thing that seems to attract people from all over the country… and someday, the world again… to Cape Cod. The sunset was peaceful, and easy. There were no long lines. No one was angry. It was socially distanced and extremely safe.

While all is not perfect on Cape Cod, this sunset was, in fact, exactly perfect.

What happens now?

Well, we hope to find a lot of sunsets like this one all summer long. Okay, not exactly like this one. No two sunsets are alike. No two beaches are alike. Every moment on Cape Cod is its own fingerprint.

The season of sharing the wonder that is Cape Cod has begun.
