WELLFLEET – We stumbled onto this fun band, The Spaces. Actually, “Stumbled” is the name of this catchy song, written by lead singer Dave Myers.
Myers is also the co-founder of the Wellfleet Boogie On The Bay, where The Spaces performed along with four other bands to raise money for the Friends Of Our Recreation, a group that helps children from low-income families participate in youth activities.
Sunday was the 7th Annual Boogie on the Bay. It was held at Baker Field across from Mayo Beach.
The Spaces are Myers on guitar and vocals; Devan Atanian on vocals; Anthony Esposito on bass; and Billy Kwaak playing drums.
Myers, the production director at Cape Cod Broadcasting and on-air personality at Ocean 104.7, started the concert when he was executive director at WOMR in Provincetown, he said. He started the Boogie concert with Tony Pasquale and Matty Dread, also of WOMR, he said.
And now the concert is “a collaboration of the community,” said Myers. And the music, well, let this catchy song stumble into your ears.
