Paw Wah Pond Conservation Area, Orleans – Slideshow

Paw Wah Pond
Written by Brian Tarcy

ORLEANS – The Paw Wah Pond Conservation Area has a pleasant quick hike that offers a view of not only Paw Wah Pond, but also a spectacular walk right out to a beach on Little Bay.

The 12-acre property is located off of Namequoit Road.

We found ourselves there on a beautiful afternoon with the sun shining and temperatures near 60. Among the sites we found was a picnic table covered with horseshoe crabs, seashells and pine needles.

The property is one of many properties on the Cape that have been preserved as open space. The town of Orleans bought the property in 1987 to prevent a seven-lot subdivision from being constructed.
