SANDWICH – On Cape Cod, you can watch the sun rise over the water, or watch it set over the water. It’s a pretty magical combination, not shared by many places.
And, you can also watch the sun rise or set at each end of the Cape Cod Canal, depending on the time of day. There are a lot of photographic options just along the canal.
For this morning’s sunrise, I went to the east end of the canal and simply breathed in the splendor as the day began.
It was a calm chilly morning and first light had already happened by the time I reached the Visitor’s Center on the canal. But the sky was still golden and the sun was just making an appearance. I was enthralled.
Also, I was struck by how alive the world feels at this time of the morning along the canal. As I was leaving, I saw a fishing boat heading out to work.
