PROVINCETOWN – In a town of spectacular scenery, it can be easy to overlook the serene hike that is the Beech Forest Trail.
Driving into the Provincelands, there is a sign for the parking lot leading to Beech Forest. I usually drive right past it.
This weekend, for the first time in a while, I stopped to take the one-mile hike. I’m glad I did. I pretty much had the entire place to myself, although I did see one other group of three hikers just as I was leaving.
While I did not see much wildlife, I thoroughly enjoyed what I did see, which was a really interesting Provincetown deep woods hike on a snowless deep winter day.

I have been going to Provincetown since 1954 and never knew of this trail. Several years of y life have taken me to other trails, I have been here in Oregon for 50 years. My love for P’Town and the Cape is still a vibrant part of me. Thank you for this slide show! Keep going =))
