EASTHAM – One of the best walks on Cape Cod starts at Doane Rock and then goes through the woods to the bikepath that leads to the parking lot at Coast Guard Beach, and then onto the beach.
Coast Guard Beach, as many know, is consistently rated by those who do such ratings as one of the 10 best beaches in America. It’s easy to see why.
And our walking approach on a recent day along the bike path was a glorious way to arrive at the beach. The bridge over the marsh just before you get to the beach offers stunning views of the marsh and out to the sea in the distance.
And of course, the beach was Coast Guard Beach on a perfect day. It looked like this.
