FALMOUTH – We visited the reflective glory that is Green Pond just before sunrise on July 3, which eventually turned into the hottest day of the summer so far.
At dawn, the air was still but the temperature was already over 70. The view over the boats at Green Pond Boatyard stretched into a foggy vista, but the water itself was reflecting the clouds, which were reflecting the soon-to-rise sun.
It was a peaceful and glorious way to begin the holiday weekend.
So happy July 4, and happy 250th birthday America!
If you are on Cape Cod and it is July, you are in paradise. It doesn’t stick around forever around here. It’s actually sort of fleeting, every single year.
So we suggest you get outside and enjoy it while it’s here. Gosh, just check out the views!
