SANDWICH – I had not been to the Sandwich Boardwalk since before a storm in January 2022 demolished a third of it, requiring the entire boardwalk be replaced by a new design.
So it was interesting to see this solidly-built new boardwalk, complete with side rails making it more accessible. I liked it, mostly because when I walked the old one I sometimes found myself being uncomfortably careful for what is a leisurely stroll.
The boardwalk travels over a salt marsh to Town Neck Beach. It is truly an iconic Cape Cod place.
When I walked it at sunset, the chill was going through me but the view was touching my soul.
