WELLFLEET – I go to great lengths, especially at the height of summer, in pursuit of solitude on a Cape Cod beach.
Recently I took a lucky left turn onto Bound Brook Island Road and followed it a long ways until there it was — a secret beach. Well, pretty secluded in any case.
There is hardly any parking at the end of the long dirt road and the deep sand didn’t make it ideal to park a Prius, but I made it work and it was worth the effort.
What a spot. While I didn’t have it completely to myself, it was almost as if it was. The effort alone to get there made that pretty much of a certainty.
Between you and me, Bound Brook Island Beach is a spectacular spot. Shh. Don’t tell anyone.
