WELLFLEET – It’s the little moments in a long winter that stick out.
And recently I found myself alone at Marconi Beach on a brisk but not bitterly cold day. It turned into something of a moment of zen.
I had this expanse of a popular famous Cape Cod beach to myself. I looked left. Not a soul. And right? Nobody.
Just me and the waves alone on the Cape Cod National Seashore. I found spots of erosion, uprooted branches. I also found in peace in the rhythm of the waves.
I have needed the waves recently. And it’s always good to get to the National Seashore and take a moment to just appreciate how lucky we are to live in a place such as this.
Watching the waves. That’s it. Walking and listening. It’s a restorative process and in the solitude, I find balance and move on.
