PROVINCETOWN – Swooping through the winding roller coaster ride that is the Province Lands Bicycle Trail is a rare treat, particularly in June and September, just before or after the high season.
The bike trail, which, according to signage along the trail was the first bike trail in a National Park, is an exquisite experience, the steep uphills are as challenging as the downslopes are thrilling.
The scenery is a kind of moonscape of white sand dunes and dark green scrub pine with the occasional purple flower for contrast. The Atlantic Ocean plays a tantalizing game of peekaboo just over on the other side of the dunes.
