High Head Beach, Truro – Slideshow

High Head Beach
Written by Brian Tarcy

NORTH TRURO – The best hikes on Cape Cod are often the ones that take the most effort, especially when they lead to a big reward.

Such is the hike to High Head Beach, where the reward is the spectacular, secluded beach itself.

The journey through the woods and dunes makes the hike especially interesting. While it is not the most difficult hike on the Cape, it can be slightly challenging walking over sand and dunes.

But when you arrive at the beach, it is mostly empty except for a few walkers and people fishing. The view in either direction is endless. And hiking along the beach, is of course, always great.

You can go a long way in either direction. Or you can just sit and listen to the waves.
