Canal Sunrise With A Cruise Ship – Slideshow

Canal sunrise cruise ship
Written by Brian Tarcy

SANDWICH – It was a perfectly warm and also a very still morning when I went to the east end of the Cape Cod Canal to watch the sun rise today.

As I watching the natural light show, a 745-foot-long cruise ship, the Viking Star, went through the canal.

The sun hit it perfectly. And while I have a less than zero interest in ever going on a cruise, I grudgingly admit that it was pretty cool to see a big ship like that go through the canal at sunrise.

Of course, watching any boat go through the canal in that magic lighting is always going to be nice to see. But when the big cruise ship surprised me, I had a feeling I just might get a good photo or two.

And I knew that even if the photos didn’t come out, the warm September morning on the canal was a perfect way to start a day.
