WOODS HOLE – One of our favorite places on Cape Cod, or in the world, is the village of Woods Hole.
On a recent day, to escape the chaos of breaking news and conspiracy theories, we took a quiet stroll through the village that is the home to the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, the Marine Biological Laboratory, and the National Marine Fisheries.
While the village of Woods Hole did not have the energy of a summer day without a pandemic, it had all of the beauty that it always has, and with a setting sun it was even better. Plus it was calm.
A short stroll by Eel Pond to the statue of Rachel Carson near the sundial, with a view of the R/V Neil Armstrong, to the drawbridge and then back to the National Marine Fisheries Building are the ingredients of this slide show.
Walking in this village dedicated to science was a needed elixir from a world of tin foil hats.
