EASTHAM – One of the jewels of the Cape is the hike at Fort Hill. Start with the parking area near the beautiful Edward Penniman House, which was built for the young sea captain in the 1860s.
From there we headed on a hike into Fort Hill. We had been here before but this time we took an extended hike into the Red Maple Swamp.
When we came upon a spur leading to a “sitting area” we were intrigued. And it turned out way cooler than expected. Check this out.
We then found ourselves on a quick detour to beautiful Hemenway Landing before heading back.
It is one of the best hikes on the Cape. Below are some photos.
