Cook’s Farm Conservation Lands, Sandwich – Slideshow

Cook's Farm
Written by Brian Tarcy

SANDWICH – Someone once told me that fall is nice everywhere and I think that is mostly true. But some places are better than others, and here on Cape Cod, fall is special.

The weather is still nice, there is less traffic and the foliage around all of Cape Cod’s hundreds of ponds makes for some fantastic viewing.

One of my favorite places to visit in the fall is Cook’s Farm Conservation Lands and the Upper Shawme Dam connecting Upper Shawme Pond to Lower Shawme Pond. One of the features of the dam is a fish ladder.

The mile long trail going through the 40 acres of conservation lands is an easy hike offering beautiful views. Plus, the foliage is just beginning to pop.
