FALMOUTH – The most accurate thing we can say to describe this year’s Coast-Fest Concert is that you had to be there. Seriously, it was the perfect summer night in every way.
The next thing we’d like to add is that we had high hopes to get to see one of our favorites, Monica Rizzio, but we ended up just catching her last song. That’s because we had never before seen the band, Woof Woof Meow, which put on a free show on the library lawn at about the same time. And you can’t be in two places at once.
We did get to Coast-Fest for the second half of the festival, and here is a short video mashup of what we saw, including Kotoko Brass, Mighty Ceej, Joe Samba, and Crooked Coast starting and ending the video.
One note. We went to school (“old school”) before hip-hop had really been invented. So much of it is over our heads. But we really dug Mighty Ceej. (See also, Crooked Coast at Coast-Fest: “Juju” + “Mallory & Mickey” – Music VIDEO(s)

These stories are 2,000 to 10,000 word deep dives – profiles of important and interesting Cape Codders as well as examinations of important Cape issues such as housing and the environment. While most of Cape Cod Wave is free, these Longform stories are behind a paywall ($3 to read one story, $5 a month to access all stories, or $50 for a year’s access) This is the only way we make money.
