WOODS HOLE – The understudy wizard stepped seamlessly into the lead role, singing, smiling, and generally spreading magic throughout the village of Woods Hole, a village unlike any other in the world.
This was the New Year’s parade, a community jaunt through the village led by Jacek Sulanowski, who filled in as Prospero the Wizard because the regular wizard, Al Moniz, had a previous engagement.
“This is a toast to the coast,” explained Sulanowski, who with a a band of costumed revelers, took the village on an optimistic journey, complete with a group performing a traditional Abbots Bromley Horn Dance, “an English folk dance dating back to the Middle Ages,” according to Wikipedia.
They danced, they sang, and they paraded around Eel Pond, followed by a happy village crowd. At the end by the Woods Hole sundial, they toasted the coast.
