SANDWICH – Somewhere between a full freeze and a complete thaw is a river through the ice of Peters Pond.
We came upon Peters Pond rather unexpectedly as we were walking through the Boyden Farm Conservation Lands.
The sun wasn’t down but it was low and the sky was gray but the pond with its mix of ice and water gave all sorts of clues as to what’s been there – from a lifeguard months ago, to a bird leaving wet footprints in the ice towards the water.
It is an interesting time of year.
