FALMOUTH – Walking the 3.5-mile service road that goes around Long Pond is an up and down stairmaster-like reminder that Cape Cod was formed by glaciers. And that’s not the only reason this was such an interesting trek.
Long Pond, of course, is the main source of drinking water in Falmouth. Falmouth is a pretty big town so it helps that Long Pond is, well, so long. A long pond means a long walk.
With all of that to contemplate, we were thrilled to see some colorful foliage to distract us from our sore muscles on some of the steep hills.
While it was a little early for peak foliage season, we saw the beginnings of what is sure to be a spectacular show.
