Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail + Marconi Station Site – Slide Show

Atlantic White Cedar Swamp
Written by Brian Tarcy

WELLFLEET – The Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail was a revelation.

I had been hiking all over the Outer Cape, or so I thought. But somehow I missed this gem, even though I had previously been to the Marconi site at the other side of the parking lot.

At the back end of the parking lot, you enter the trail through an oak and pine forest and walk through some beautiful woods before coming to the boardwalk that takes you through the Atlantic Cedar trees.

It’s rather magnificent in a sort of prehistoric way. It just felt different there than anywhere else on the Cape.

And the scenery, as you can see, was spectacular. And at the end, I checked out the Marconi site for a good look at dunes leading to the Atlantic Ocean.
