Keveney Lane Bridge – Slideshow

Keveney Lane Bridge
Written by Brian Tarcy

CUMMAQUID – The one lane bridge separating the towns of Yarmouth and Barnstable, or more specifically the villages of Yarmouthport and Cummaquid begins in Cummaquid as Keveney Lane and it begins in the Yarmouthport as Mill Lane. The road name changes mid-bridge.

And while the bridge may indeed be called something different depending on where you may be from, the important thing, it seemed to us, was that it is a bridge. It is not a wall.

A bridge seems so neighborly. But then again, it’s so darn pretty with views out to Cape Cod Bay that should be shared by anyone who ventures past. We did just that… waiting our turn to pass over the bridge. It is, after all, one lane. Cooperation is required. That’s what good neighbors do.
