FALMOUTH – Just off the Shining Sea Bikeway near the Great Sippewissett Marsh, unbeknownst to most bikers one recent early evening, was a family of swans.
When we came across them, the five cygnets were sleeping and the parents were standing guard. Slowly, one by one, the kids began to wake up.
And then one rose up and started walking to the water.
It was time for an afternoon swim.
