FALMOUTH – With the right combination of weather and circumstance, that which had become commonplace returns to the realm of the spectacular.
Swans. When you first see them, they are nothing short of beautiful. But if you see them all the time, as you are apt to on Cape Cod, the sight becomes more of a Hey Swan head nod as you walk or drive by these elegant birds. It’s sort of the same with the mesmerizing look of melting ice in a Cape Cod pond. You think, pretty, and move on.
But when two swans encounter melting ice they become the ice-breaking swans of Salt Pond, and it looks like this.
