Sunshine & Solitude at Stoney Beach – Slideshow

Written by Brian Tarcy

WOODS HOLE – Alone on a Cape Cod beach. It’s clear that it will not last, but this solitude in such a popular spot is something of an inhale, and an exhale.

Whew. Wow.

As the seasons turn, we love to visit those places where, soon, everything will be different. This is Cape Cod in April. Everywhere is like that. It’s all about to change.

Stoney Beach, a short walk from the village of Woods Hole, was empty on Saturday. No one needed the outdoor shower to wash off the salt water. No one went for a swim to cool off.  No one but us was on the beach, just looking at the wonder of the sea.

It will be crowded in the summer. We’ll probably be there.
