Sarah Swain and the Oh Boys! In Hyannis – Video

HYANNIS – “Technically,” said Sarah Swain, “it is officially spring.” Oh boy, what a way to start the season.

On the first Saturday of the spring in the big, open warehouse kind of room that Cape Beer calls a beer garden, the company threw a spring fling featuring Sarah Swain and her band the Oh Boys!

The room is a surprisingly awesome venue for music. It looked like 200 or more people were bouncing and dancing and generally mesmerized into happiness by the the six-piece band which played a lot of originals and revived some classic covers.

In the summer of 2013, Swain described music on Cape Cod as “so full of joy.”

I got this video early, and then the lights went down, as you will see at the end of the song. But I stuck around because they were so much fun. I was there by myself, just watching the band and the joyful dancing crowd. I had not talked to anyone all night until near the end when one person said to me, “I noticed you haven’t stopped smiling all night.”

Well… Cape Cod music is just so full of joy.
