Mini Cape Cod Skater Named Top Fan

HYANNIS – Not too many people at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center rink had as much style as Hank Petrucci, 4, who was decked out in Bruins gear, including a Patrice Bergeron jersey, during the public skate session last week.

So it comes as no surprise that Hank was named “Fan of the Game” at a recent match between the Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Hank Petrucci skates with his father, Chris, at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center.

Hank’s dad, Chris Petrucci from Marstons Mills, said Hank has been skating since he was two-and-a-half.

When asked how much he likes to skate, Hank handled the interview question with aplomb: “A lot,” he said, confidently.

Hank received a lego hockey rink for Christmas.

He celebrated his recent fourth birthday by going to a Boston Bruins game.

After being spotted holding up a sign stating that he was at the game for his fourth birthday, Hank was named Fan of the Game.

Chris Petrucci, a 2000 Barnstable High School graduate, said he taught his son to skate. “It’s all he wants to do,” Petrucci said.

His wife was due at the rink soon with their one-and-a-half-year-old son Luke, who is just learning to skate.
