Low Tide Oyster Farmers Summer Afternoon, Mayo Beach – Slideshow

Low Tide Mayo Beach
Written by Brian Tarcy

WELLFLEET – Low tide at Mayo Beach where the oyster farmers are part of the scenery along with the beached boats is a go-to spot for great photos.

The tide was just starting to come in when we arrived. We noticed that when our feet got wet while we were taking these photos.

We have learned, from spending time on the Outer Cape, the tide doesn’t wait for slow photographers. It was hot enough that we were sort of glad about the wet feet.

The farmers were working under umbrellas to protect them from the sun.

After seeing the farmers working in the heat, we bought and then ate some delicious Wellfleet oysters. It seemed only right.
