Jake Bautista Plays Bessie Smith’s “At The Christmas Ball” – VIDEO

BREWSTER – Jake Bautista, playing at his first Christmas Cavalcade For The Homeless, pulled out a Bessie Smith song from 1925, “At The Christmas Ball.”

It would be a surprise not to be surprised at the Christmas Cavalcade For the Homeless, and Bautista and his band, Rick Barry on bass and Richard “Dicky” Buck on drums, delivered this stunning performance early in the show.

The Christmas Cavalcade For the Homeless raises money for the Housing Assistance Corporation and their work with homeless individuals and families. This year, it was held at the Ocean Edge in Brewster.

The concert is organized by Chandler Travis, leader of the Chandler Travis Philharmonic and several other bands. This was the 13th year, and every year Travis adds a “rookie” or two to the concert.

This is what a “rookie” sounds like at the Cavalcade. We believe he’s on his way to an all star career. We’ll be watching for bigger things.
