Chandler Travis Three-O “Advice To The President” – Music VIDEO

DENNIS – President Trump has broken down Chandler Travis. We think it is the first success of the Trump administration.

This hilarious and oddly poignant instant classic two-minute song, “Advice To The President” comes from the mad musical genius, Travis, who had previously said he “does not write political songs.”

He told us so months ago when we were doing a story on Cape musicians and political songs, and he told the audience at the Harvest Gallery Wine Bar again Saturday night, just before he sang the song, “Advice To The President.”

When we were doing our story on political songs, we contacted Travis but didn’t quote him because he said he does not get involved in politics. Fair enough, we thought.

Eight months later, things have changed.

Backed by the religious keyboards of Berke McKelvey and the holy bowed bass of John Clark and joined by a preacher’s son, Fred Boak on the chorus, Travis delivered, well, advice to the President.

It felt like sort of Travis’ version of “Hail To The Chief,” except it included the line, “Even the atheists are praying.”

It also had lyrics such as “Don’t ever get out of bed. Be grateful that business is booming, And that crazy shit that pops in your head, Don’t ever say it to a human.”

Ladies and gentleman, Chandler Travis, political songwriter. Thank you President Trump.
